Sara Almutlaq is a writer, curator and cultural strategist living and working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She was Lead Curator for “A Necessary Fiction: Art, Maps and the Models of our World” held in the Abbazia di San Grigorio, Venice during the Venice Biennale 2026, Lead Curator for Noor Riyadh Festival 2025, Associate Curator for the Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Venice Architecture Biennale (2025) titled The Um Slaim School: An Architecture of Connection and Curator for Unfolding the Embassy (2024), an exhibition held in Riyadh’s Fenaa Alawwal.   

Almutlaq has contributed to strategy and cultural asset development for various institutions, including the Black Gold Museum, Fenaa Alawwal, and the Diriyah Art Futures. Sara is partner and creative director of Bureau Bayn, a MENA-based creative cultural consultancy, she focuses on creating radical synergy between design practices and curatorial perspectives. Since its establishment in 2024, Bureau Bayn has developed cultural assets & programs for clients including the Ministry of Culture, Royal Commission of Riyadh City and Middle Beast. Almutlaq holds an MA in Architecture from Columbia University, New York, and has completed the executive curatorial program at the Royal College of Arts, London. Her writing has been featured on platforms such as EastEast, Ithraeyat, and Architectural Digest Middle East.
