Michael Patte
Michaël Patte is an award-winning French landscape architect and Design Director based in Riyadh, recognized for his influence on the evolution of landscape architecture, public realm, and destination development across Saudi Arabia and beyond. With more than 25 years of international experience across the Kingdom, the UAE, China, and Europe, he has led high-impact work across civic, hospitality, mixed-use, waterfront, cultural, ecological, and destination typologies, consistently combining design excellence with climate responsiveness, cultural depth, and long-term urban value.
Having established and led design platforms in Riyadh and Shenzhen, he has directed multidisciplinary teams and delivered major projects from concept to completion, contributing to internationally recognized, award-winning projects. His leadership extends beyond practice through advisory roles, jury appointments, lectures, and professional advocacy, including the founding of the Network of City Innovators in Saudi Arabia, a platform dedicated to dialogue on heritage, resilience, and the future of cities. He has also contributed to design education through academic engagements with leading institutions in France and China, including KEDGE Arts School and the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, thereby reinforcing his standing as both a practitioner and a thought leader in the field.
