David Burton is a prominent international standards expert who serves as a Convenor and committee leader for both ISO (International Organization for Standardisation) and CEN (European Committee for Standardisation). He is best known for his extensive leadership in the global stone and construction materials industry, explicitly governing European and international engineering standards. SIS (Swedish Institute for Standards): He serves as an international expert on committee SIS/TK 508, which dictates the Scandinavian and European specifications for natural stone products and concrete paving units. He leads the international technical group ISO/TC 327/AG 3, which establishes global unified terminology for natural stone standards. He serves as a designated industry expert across multiple British Standards committees, including Committee B/507 (Paving Units & Kerbs), Committee B/545 (Natural Stone), Committee B/502 maritime and coastal structures and Committee CB/300 (Screeds and in-situ floorings).
