Francesco Aurelio Bongiorno | Project Director for sports infrastructure, Jacobs
Francesco Aurelio Bongiorno is an accomplished Project Director with more than 30 years of international experience spanning sports venue design, hospitality driven developments, and largescale urban planning. His career includes leading roles in the design and delivery of major global sports infrastructure, most notably his key contributions to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ program.
A strong advocate for integrated, endtoend design excellence, Francesco is committed to aligning architectural vision with longterm operational performance and sustainable lifecycle outcomes. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Rome and has worked extensively across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
Over the past three years, Francesco has supported the Ministry of Sport in Riyadh through the Stadium Development Programme, helping shape a new generation of futureready sports venues across the Kingdom.
In March 2026, Francesco rejoined Jacobs as a Project Director for sports infrastructure across the region, continuing to lead highimpact, technically rigorous, and operationally resilient project delivery
