Basma Ibrahim is a Principal Urban Designer and Planner at AtkinsRéalis, Riyadh, with 17+ years of international expertise in strategic planning, master planning, and architecture across the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and beyond. 

A Chartered MRTPI and LEED AP ND professional, she holds a bachelor’s in architecture and a master’s in urban design from the American University of Beirut.  

Basma has played a defining role in some of Saudi Arabia's most significant urban development and landmark projects, including the Diriyah Spatial Strategy (DGDA), AlUla Towns Masterplans (RCU), Soudah Peaks Framework (SDC), the Makkah Regional Plan (MDPA) and the National Planning Code for agriculture lands in the Kingdom (MoMAH). Across these projects, Basma has worked closely with key clients, stakeholders and prestigious institutions including RCRC, Amanah, and the Diriyah Foundation, facilitating engagement and driving collaborative, high-impact outcomes across the Kingdom's most ambitious urban transformation programs. 

A versatile practitioner, Basma is driven by projects that are as visionary as they are implementable — bridging strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to shape built environments that are both aspirational and grounded in reality.
