We focus as Ghent University spin-off on activities on product development, training and consultancy for sports applications. For every product, we apply multi-angle design, maximizing the sustainability level, player comfort and technical skills. We listen to the needs and challenges of the sport players and federations. Our innovative solutions align with governmental decisions to efficiently employ natural resources and to prepare ourselves to the transition of a circular world, respecting the sport principles and pleasure.
Our first commercial product is the self-wetting rewetta ball for making high quality hockey sustainable: Playing with less water is the way forward for sustainable hockey. We are used to employ 10.000 liters of water per spraying session, meaning globally ca. 7.6 billion liters of water per year. Innovation is thus needed for all hockey components, including the balls.
Our FIH* certified balls for hockey under both dry and wet conditions contain very small holes, to release very small water amounts when you hit the balls, so they are gliding like on a highly-wetted pitch. High-quality requirements for speed and 3D skills are easily reached, supporting hockey development and play already at a young age, saving tremendous amounts of water. The recyclable and patented rewetta® balls have been successfully used at the 2024 FIH World Cup Hockey 5s in Oman, and the 2024 US Hockey 11 Cal Cup in California. They also have been recognized in IOC Paris 2024 Climate Action Award together with FIH.
